Covid Advisory
The 9th edition of MGVM was held on Sunday, 5th January 2020, with Title Sponsor MG Motor and Powered by Alembic.

The Marathon activities revolved around the motto “Sports, Seva, Swachhata”, along with fitness themes of #HumFitTohIndiaFit and #FitIndia. Along with these themes, the 9th edition of Marathon had special focus on water conservation and the water crisis issue, highlighting local, pan-India and the global scenario. The Marathon worked to bring greater awareness and a sense of urgency, among participants and citizens, for the immediate need to conserve and harvest water, while reducing usage and wastage wherever possible. Vadodara Marathon had also designed 2 exciting events to encourage citizens to adopt fitness as part of their daily regimen; #VaMoFitStep Challenge and “VaMo-G RaMo-G” Game.

The Brand Ambassadors of the 9th edition were Padmashri Dr. Deepa Malik, Ms. Sarita Gayakwad, Shri Irfan Pathan, Shri Yusuf Pathan, Dr. Bhagwatiben Oza, Dr. Preeti Kamat, Ms. Mira Erda, Shri Sanat Pandya, and Shri Mahendra Patel.


VM set new records with registrations and participation at MGVM 9th edition:

VM organized these pre-events connected to the 9th edition of the Marathon:
  • Triathlon Challenge in collaboration with TCCB (The Cycling Club of Baroda): A grueling race with 3 events- swimming, cycling and running- for athletes from all over India.
  • VM Connect: An interface event that connected local NGO’s with corporate sponsors and individual donors.
  • Press Conferences: Multiple press conferences were held.
