Oct. 8: Vadodara is ready to recreate history on 6th January 2019 with the 8th edition of the MG Vadodara International Marathon. The MG Vadodara International Marathon has a glittering history of having every edition flagged of by the Chief Minister of Gujarat; and the 8th edition will be flagged off by the Hon. Chief Minister, Shri VijaybhaiRupani. Recognised as one of the nation?s largest marathons, the MG Vadodara International Marathon expects to have over 1,00,000 registrations from within the country and across the globe to run in this edition?s mega event.
Launching the upcoming 8thedition, Smt. Tejal Amin, Chairperson of MG Vadodara International Marathon, said, „We are a constantly evolving marathon which understands the importance of health and fitness in the present and future generations. Always seeking to usher in social transformation with our reach,through thisedition, we are committed to „health beyond fitness?, by adopting the noble cause of Organ Donation. As we honour champions; we are proud to welcome to our family, the Asian Games Gold Medallist, Sarita Gayakwad, as a Brand Ambassador for the 8th edition.”
With support this year from the Sports Authority of India and the Sports Authority of Gujarat, this AAFI and AIMS accredited Marathon is now truly a national sports event, with runners from all over India and across the globeexpected to participate.

MG Vadodara International Marathon, keeping in line with its motto of “Sports, Seva, Swacchata”, is taking further its mission of health with fitness by adopting the social cause of Organ Donation. With focus on the theme “Health Beyond Fitness”, the marathon willencourage all participants to support the nationwide movement for Organ Donation, as initiated by the Hon Prime Minister, Shri Narendrabhai Modi.
MG Vadodara International Marathon?s Brand Ambassadors have always been highly respected as inspirational figuresforthe participants in every edition. MG Vadodara International Marathon is honoured to welcome Ms. Sarita Gayakwad, part of the Indian women's 4 × 400 metres relay team that won the gold medal at the 2018 Asian Games, as International Brand Ambassador for the 8th edition of MG Vadodara International Marathon.
The MG Vadodara International Marathon 2019, powered by Alembic, comprises of Timed Runs and Fun Runs. The Timed Runs include 42.2Km Full Marathon, 21.1Km Half Marathon, 10Km Run, and 21.1Km Half Marathon Relay. The Fun Runs include 5Km Linde Swachhata Run, Jawan Run, NGO Pledge Run, NRI Homecoming Run, Torch of Seva; and 1Km INOXDivyang Paralympic Run.
The MG Vadodara International Marathon aims to set new benchmarks in runner?s comfort by introducing more medical booths, upgraded after-race recovery zones and more monitoring stations. With a thrust on outstation runners, the MG Vadodara International Marathon team plans to offer more options for comfortable stay and other facilities.
As the countdown to the Marathon begins, the MG Vadodara International Marathon is geared up to host another highly successful event on 6th January 2019.
