"To our past, present and future Vadodara citizens,
As you may have experienced, Vadodara has grown and evolved through the years, and like all other Indian cities our traffic conditions have continued to deteriorate. This situation affects us all in more ways than one. The chaotic traffic results in time consuming commutes, avoidable minor and tragic accidents, and increased levels of pollution. For many years, we hoped that this deteriorating situation caused by increased traffic levels, bad and congested roads with negligible traffic enforcement and discipline will be addressed by our local government. As this condition continues to exacerbate, we have come to realize that WE - the Citizens of Vadodara need to be proactive to improve our CITY and our lives. Through this Marathon, organized by the Vadodara Traffic Education Trust (VTET) - a public-private partnership, WE hope to bring this awareness in every citizen of Vadodara and raise monies to fund the Vadodara Traffic Brigade to enforce traffic rules and discipline. WE truly believe that such endeavors will bring the CHANGE we all want and need. We request that each one of you - who shares that bond with Vadodara helps us help ourselves by making a donation to the Marathon. We promise, that the next time you visit Vadodara, you will notice improved traffic conditions and will make your visit to Vadodara a memorable one.
